The Holy Ghost is God and the third Person of the Blessed Trinity. The Holy Ghost is also called the Holy Spirit, the Paraclete, the Advocate, the Spirit of Truth, the Spirit of God, and the Spirit of Love. There are seven gifts of the Holy Spirit, which perfect certain basic virtues, and they are: wisdom, understanding, knowledge, counsel, fortitude, piety and fear of the Lord. “We ought to pray to and invoke the Holy Spirit, for each one of us greatly needs His protection and His help.” excerpts taken from Section 11 of Divinum illud munus, Encyclical of Pope Leo XIII on the Holy Spirit, 9 May 1897.
