Removing Negativity

Sometimes in life we have to cleans out the negative and enrich the positive.  Only too often our lives get polluted by items, thoughts and sounds of negativity.  It is not until recently did I realize just how polluted my environment really became.  So I am cleaning out my life and deleting, of sorts, the negativity that surrounds.  How refreshing life can be and joyful without all that "gunk".   It has freed me to spend more quality time with God and in prayer.

I've recently promised my husband that I would no longer listen to any music that has any negative undertones.  One of my favorite singers, Frank Sinatra, sings "My Way" and the first line ruined it for me. (And now, the end is here And so I face the final curtain) - Sorry Blue Eyes, it's rather sad!  On the bright side of things, there are so many uplifting songs and websites.  One of my favorite inspirational websites is www.GodVine.com.

As I detox my thoughts and environment, I wish you peace and blessings.

The Will to Win

The Will To Win
(one the most classic motivational poems)

If you want a thing bad enough
To go out and fight for it,
Work day and night for it,
Give up your time and your peace and
your sleep for it

If only desire of it
Makes you quite mad enough
Never to tire of it,
Makes you hold all other things tawdry
and cheap for it

If life seems all empty and useless without it
And all that you scheme and you dream is about it,

If gladly you’ll sweat for it,
Fret for it, Plan for it,
Lose all your terror of God or man for it,

If you’ll simply go after that thing that you want.
With all your capacity,
Strength and sagacity,
Faith, hope and confidence, stern pertinacity,

If neither cold poverty, famished and gaunt,
Nor sickness nor pain
Of body or brain
Can turn you away from the thing that you want,

If dogged and grim you besiege and beset it,
You’ll get it!

A Basilica in Phoenix

This past weekend has been full of blessings as I pray that yours was too.  We had a Mini-Immediate-Family-Reunion in Phoenix, AZ, where our son attends the university.  He acted as the tour guide and we came across a Basilica and he knew his mother had to go inside.  I was drawn in, like a bee to honey, and all I could utter was WOW! The photos below do not do it justice. Here is a link to St. Mary's Basilica and it has a virtual tour on the right side of the website.  Don't forget to move the camera with your mouse and see the ceiling and the stained glass dome.  http://www.saintmarysbasilica.org/

The statues are life size, the carvings are masterpieces and so old, there were even brass carved vents on the floor that I had to photo.  My husband and I remember kneeling at the altar and were able to do that once again.  I also photographed a stone block found outside and to the right of the front doors with the dates.  May you enjoy and be awed too and please pardon my shaky hands.  Don't forget to check-out the last photo on the right.  It is posted outside by the sidewalk and explains so much that I have not mentioned.
